Week 6 Assignment: Signs of the Season (Part 2)

We also had another assignment this week called Signs of the Season. For this assignment, we had to capture something that reminds us of the season, which is currently winter. The last few days have been very gloomy and foggy, so they provided me with a cool idea for my photo.

I really like how my photo turned out because it has a cold feeling to it which is perfect for this assignment. The fog on the road and in the trees adds a nice touch. All in all, I really like how my projects for this week turned out!

Week 6 Assignment: Vintage (Part 1)

When I heard that our next assignment was to use filters and overlays to make a picture look vintage, I already had a detailed vision of what I wanted to do for my photos. Instead of just making a photo look vintage, why not go back in time myself?
Living in the situation I do now, I have access to a large variety of vintage clothing, vehicles, jewelry, objects, furniture, and overall style. So I decided I would put this to use and throw myself back to the 1950s.

Here is how that turned out:

Although it took a long while to edit and hours for hair and makeup, it was all worth it. I really like how these photos turned out. I actually took them when it was getting a bit dark outside which lowers the quality of the photo but I feel like it added to the old fashioned feel. Using black and white and sepia filters also lightens up the photo. All in all, I feel as though this assignment was a total success!

Week 5 Assignments: Playing with light, Creatures, and Collections

This week in class we had three assignments. Two were creative challenges to play with light and to take a creature picture. The other assignments was to find a collection we had and capture it in a picture.

First, for a collection I decided to photograph my collected vinyls:

For my creature photo I photographed my beloved pups, Ellie and Bullseye:

And lastly, my playing with light photo:

Some Panoramas!

Even though they can turn out terrible, one of my favorite kinds of photos to take are panoramas. Throughout the last few years, I have compiled a few panos from different places I've traveled. I decided to share these photos with you today!

Here ya go!

The BEAUTIFUL Bear Lake.
I took this one at my brother's soccer game.

Week 4 Assignment: Up Close and Personal

Our Week 4 assignment over Thanksgiving Break was called "Up Close and Personal". We were challenged to photograph something memorable to us. So I thought and thought about what meant something to me. After a few days of thinking over my options, I decided to photograph something very important to me: my cancer scars. This was memorable to me because it reminds me that even since I was little, I have been a strong girl. If I survived cancer, I can get through anything!

After taking several photos with different lighting and angles, this is what I ended up with:
I believe that I did a good job this week because my photo turned out good and it has a lot of meaning in it. All in all, this week had a very interesting project and I think I did pretty well at it!

So until next week,
Bye!
